TREVOR NOAH TO PRODUCE FILM ON EIGHT YEAR OLD NIGERIAN CHESS PRODIGY

Award-winning television host and comedian Trevor Noah is now known to be the producer for the upcoming movie about the Nigerian chess prodigy Tanitoluwa Adewunmi called “My Name is Tani…”.
The young boy’s story broke the internet March, when he was pronounced from going homeless to becoming a world renowned Chess Champion.
Trevor Noah of the Award-winning show “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” is said to produce the show under his Day Zero Productions with his partner Haroon Salem.
Other productions like State Street Pictures and Mainstay entertainment are co-producing it along side Trevor Noah in the Paramount Studios.
The movie’s story will be based on the plot of the young boy’s family from where they came to seek asylum in New York and became homeless and extents to what his parents did for their children.
How he started learning chess from his teacher from school and how “Tani” won the New York state Scholar Championship a year later.
His family was able to secure housing due to the 250,000 Dollars donated to the family through the GoFundMe app after his story broke the internet.
The film’s script would be adapted from a trio of books on the family, which would be released through HarperCollins’ W Publishing imprint in 2020.
