Trump has not been tested for coronavirus – White House says, despite indirect contact

President Donald Trump has not been tested for coronavirus, despite being in close contact with two lawmakers who are now self-quarantining after they got closer to someone with the virus. White House officials announced late Monday that the president has not been tested because he has neither had prolonged close contact with any known confirmed COVID-19 patients nor does he have any symptoms. The statement was issued after Vice President Mike Pence said during his briefing at the White House that he was not tested and didn’t know whether or not the president was tested.
Two Republican members of Congress, Georgia Rep. Doug Collins and Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, recently announced they would self-quarantine after were in close proximity to someone at a conservative conference, who has since been diagnosed with the coronavirus. According to CNN, Collins shook hands with Trump during a visit to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday.
