An Afghan TV presenter looked terrified as he read the news while surrounded by armed Taliban thugs.

The Taliban militants were said to have stormed the building and demanded the news anchor praise the Taliban.

This is coming as Taliban fighters fired their guns into the air in celebration in Kabul as the last US troops left Afghanistan nearly twenty years after it arrived the country following the September 11, 2001 attacks on America.

The Chairman of Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State, Hon. Evangelist Margaret Inde, has empowered pilot farmers each with a hoe, cutlass and one tuber of yam.

The LG boss handed over the items during activities to mark the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Obanliku LGA as well as celebration of the New Yam festival held on Friday, August 27.

The empowernment scheme has elicited varying reactions on social media with many people criticising Mrs Inde’s gesture while others blamed the able bodied men who lined up to accept the items from her.

Commotion as Hotel staff tries to prevent Super Eagles players from training
