Senate President Ahmad Lawan and his deputy urges Nigerians to unite for the progress of the country

The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, his deputy, Ovie Omo-Agege and a former senate president, David Mark, have urged Nigerians to unite for the progress of the country and continue to keep faith with their fatherland.

They stated this in separate messages to mark the 61st Independence Anniversary of the country.

Omo-Agege called for oneness and renewed patriotism from all Nigerians, while Mark called on citizens to bury old prejudices to religion, tribe or ethnic leanings believed to be antithetical to development.

Similarly, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila and the Deputy Speaker, Ahmed Wase urged Nigerians to embrace unity and peaceful coexistence.
