Policeman Reportedly Killed from Fire Outbreak in Balogun Market Yesterday

A six storey-building in Balogun market on the Lagos Island was reported to be burning yesterday and collapsed around 8:30pm on a policeman leaving him severely injured and loosing his life afterwards.

The News Agency Nigeria (NAN) reported that the six store-building located at 43, Martins Street, and later killed killed the policeman.
After reportedly trying to control surging the crowd before the building collapsed as firemen tried to extinguish the fire that evening.

Mr Olanrewaju Elegushi, the Special Adviser to the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Lagos Central Business District, confirmed the death of the Police officer to the NAN.

He told the NAN, that the policeman died following the injuries that he sustained from the building collapse.
