Investigate your customers’ source of income – EFCC tells banks

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has asked banks to investigate the source of income of their customers. 

Chairman of the anti-graft agency, Abdulrasheed Bawa made the appeal when visited by members of the Association of Chief Audit Executives of Banks in Nigeria (ACAEBIN) in Abuja.

Bawa also disclosed that they will start holding banks liable for fraud in financial deposits, where there are established cases of complicity in the sector from September 1.


Nigeria will commence the manufacturing of airplanes before the end of 2023 — Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika


The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has said Nigeria will start the production of airplanes before President Muhammadu Buhari leaves office in 2023.

Sirika stated this after he paid an inspection visit to the Magnus Aircraft Industry in Pogany, Hungary.

Gov. Obaseki to ban unvaccinated people from going to churches, mosques and banks

Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, says those who cannot show proof of taking at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine may not be allowed into large gatherings in churches, mosques, banks, wedding or burial receptions among others.

Obaseki disclosed this while flagging off the second phase of the COVID-19 vaccination exercise in the state.

MI Abaga has lamented the state of the police stations in Nigeria. The rapper said he spent two hours in a police station yesterday night.

He found fault with the “working conditions” and “mental conditioning” at the station. He also complained about the dilapidation. He added that “we have work to do as a country.”

Naked baby featured in Nirvana’s album cover 30 years ago is suing for child sexual exploitation

The naked baby featured in Nirvana’s famous “Nevermind” album art is all grown up and is now suing the band for child sexual exploitation 30 years after the album was released. A man named Spencer Elden claims he’s the naked baby pictured in a swimming pool on Nirvana’s 1991 album cover.

Elden claims he could not consent to his image being used on the album art because he was only a 4-month-old baby, He says his legal guardians didn’t consent to it either. Elden wants the band, Kurt’s estate, and others to pay at least $150,000 each in damages.

Elden claims in his suit that the image is actually child pornography. He also claims the band made a promise to cover his genitals with a sticker but it was never incorporated on the album cover.

South African woman arrested on negligence charge after leaving her 6 children unattended to go visit her boyfriend

A 32-year-old woman has been arrested by police on child negligence charge in Giyani, Limpopo Province, South Africa. 

It’s alleged that the accused who lives in the village of Nkuri Sadoma outside Giyani, left her 6 children unattended when she visited her boyfriend.

According to the Giyani police, five of the children have been kept in a safe place by the Department of Social Development.

Woman banned from zoo after 4-year ‘affair’ with chimpanzee

A zoo in Antwerp, Belgium, has banned a woman from seeing her favorite chimpanzee because their relationship is interfering with the chimp’s ability to bond with his fellow primates.

Adie Timmermans, a regular at the zoo’s primate enclosure, was told this week by the Antwerp Zoo that she would be prohibited from seeing Chita, a 38-year-old chimpanzee she calls the apple of her eye.
